Five bloggers, a PR rep, a jewellery designer, two boutique owners and a tonne of modelling wax in a room set atop the fourth floor of the Carlow House in Melbourne. This was no ordinary night.

A very intimate event was held last Tuesday to promote not only jewellery designer A.l.i Alexander but also Lord Coconut; a boutique/ gallery space owned by Mark and Tamara Boldiston that specialises in designer jewellery and cuff links specifically for men.  All jewellery on showcase are from local Melbourne designers with a very small selection of designers hand-picked from interstate.

This media event was like no other, as it also was doubling as a jewellery making master class extravaganza, run by one of Lord Coconuts best selling designers, A.l.i Alexander. The aim of the night was to have each blogger create a piece of jewellery, it could be anything from a ring, a bracelet to even a 3-piece cuff link set. Once the designs were set in modelling wax, they would be entered into a Facebook competition and the one with the most votes will get made into sterling silver!

You can vote for your favourite designs here.

An event with a limitless supply of cheese, crackers and wine, was definitely an event to remember as it allowed bloggers not only the chance to meet other like-minded individuals but to also express their creativity through their designs which is something very rare as far as fashion events go.

If you love quirky hand crafted jewellery and amazing taxidermy, visit Lord Coconut at 289 Flinders Lane, Lvl 4 of the Carlow house, Melbourne or on their online store here!
