Couturing tried and tested the new Maybelline New York Color Sensational Color Elixir Lip Color and we are obsessed. Read on to find out what we thought.
Released in 12 seductive shades, give your lips everything they need and want in one spellbinding sweep as Color Elixir’s liquid balm clings to lips like a primer, filling in lines to create a smooth and hydrated canvas.
Forging a hybrid between the colour saturation of a lipstick, the high shine of a gloss and the moisturising feel of a balm, Maybelline New York’s new 3-in-1 formulas is the perfect fixture for a quick swipe of colour.
The leaf brush applicator is flexible and features a tip, which can be used to line the lips for precision. The flat side of the wand makes for a quick application to the rest of the lip for super luscious colour.
Once deposited, the lightweight, concentrated pigments float to the top of the formula but are protected and enclosed by a high shine gloss for high impact with a lip look that offers dimension, depth and brilliant shine.
We tried the four colours perfect for spring: Rose Redefined, Hibiscus Haven, Petal Plush and Mandarin Rapture (from left to right in the image above). The formula is unique in terms of texture – offering lots of shine but without the sticky feel of most drugstore lip-glosses. The high quality of the gloss felt super smooth along the lips with lots of pigment to it, leaving us to chase every shade available.
The uniquely formed case in the deceiving lipstick shape offers a hint of vanilla essence in the scent to capture the look and smell of gloss-admirers. We carried the lip stain for 2-3 hours before reapplying just below the Cupid’s bow for a more intense colour.
TIP: For someone with naturally dry lips, this could be your saviour in the lip-gloss department. Apply a few layers of the Color Elixir Lip Color and forget about any slightly chapped lips. This super moist lip product promises to absorb into your lips and create a creamy delight.
