On Tuesday night, TAG Heuer held its highly anticipated Grand Prix cocktail event with a special guest appearance by Formula 1 champion Daniel Ricciardo, to celebrate its ongoing partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and its new role as the Official Watch Partner and Official Connected Watch Partner of Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing.

Ricciardo headlined the impressive guest list of high profile Australians at Melbourne’s favourite rooftop venue, Luminaire. Guests included model/TV personality Nikki Phillips, sporting stars, Ed Jenkins, Fabian Coulthard & Olympian Mack Horton, musician Anthony Callea, Bachelor in Paradise’s Laurina Fleure, as well as Real Housewife of Melbourne’s Chyka Keebaugh to name a few.

Ricciardo was welcomed on stage by MC’s and Australian sports journalists, Mark Beretta and Mel McLaughlin to talk about the TAG Heuer’s long history in motor sport and Ricciardo’s excitement to be racing back on home soil this week for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.

Earlier this month, TAG Heuer announced it will be racing head-first into the world of digital entertainment as the Official Time Keeper for Gran Turismo Sport. The partnership will see TAG Heuer’s Live Timing Technology integrated into Gran Turismo Sport providing unparalleled timing solutions within the racing experience.

To celebrate the new partnership, and in the spirit of TAG Heuer’s iconic “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” motto, Ricciardo took on Supercars champion, Fabian Coulthard in a high-speed Gran Turismo simulator race that had the pair battling on virtual streets.

The action-packed event highlighted TAG Heuer’s ongoing partnership with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing with the Australian launch of the new TAG Heuer Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Connected Modular 45 Special Edition. The special edition piece is available from May in TAG Heuer Boutiques across Australia with an RRP of $2,650.

As the Official Timekeeper, Official Watch and Team Performance Partner of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, the brand’s iconic shield is featured on the driver’s helmets, gloves, team uniform and race suits, and of course the 2018 car is fittingly named the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing-TAG Heuer RB14.

TAG Heuer’s soiree saw Melbourne’s elite media and VIPs toast with Veuve Clicquot and an F1 inspired menu designed by the city’s premier caterers, The Big Group, including a bespoke dessert. Guests were also treated to tunes from Australian DJ, Claire.
