Monday 5 November: Visit the Australian Centre for the Moving Image at Federation Square. New films are showing all the time so check out the ACMI website for session times, current exhibitions and special events.

Tuesday 6 November: Our favourite public holiday is here! Let’s cross our fingers for sunny Spring weather and enjoy a traditional Melbourne Cup BBQ with friends. Good luck in the sweep!

Wednesday 7 November: Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Melbourne Zoo and help fight extinction by enjoying a degustation dinner prepared by George Calombaris and other celebrity chefs. The Dine on the Wild Side event is held at the Leopard Lodge inside Melbourne Zoo and guests will be joined by internationally renowned comedian, environmentalist and travel presenter, Michael Palin.

Thursday 8 November: It’s ladies day! If you’re not going to be spending Oaks Day at Flemington Racecourse, we recommend you get dressed up anyway and enjoy champagne and a nine course degustation menu at Veloce Restaurant Bar on Claremont Street South Yarra. Argentinian chef Pablo de Pasquale is in charge of the tapas menu and Pizzini wines will be served, all for just $85.

 

Friday 9 November: Mountain Goat Brewery in Richmond is open to the public every Friday evening from 5pm. All their beers, including one off specialty batches, are on tap and you can order wood-fired pizzas for dinner. Check out the Mountain Goat website for more details.

Saturday 10 November: Wake up early and head to the Richmond Farmer’s Market for fresh produce and all things delicious. The market is open every Saturday 7am – 1pm and is located Gleadell Street, just off Church Street and behind the Richmond Town Hall. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, we recommend brunch at Dimitri’s Feast on Swan Street.

Sunday 11 November: Book tickets to see Geoffrey Rush’s new comical musical – A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum showing at Her Majesty’s Theatre. For more information and tickets, go to the Funny Thing website.
