The latest addition to the famed Saké Restaurant & Bar family opens at 11am this Friday, 15 April and the launch weekend promises to be a blast. From spectacular food and drinks, to stunning décor and a stellar DJ line-up, this dining and entertainment destination has everything covered.

Executive Chef Jean Paul Lourdes, with 3-star Michelin credentials spanning Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo, has created a menu that pays homage to the Saké family but reflects his signature style. The menu celebrates locally-sourced produce, including artisan cheeses and heritage bred chicken and pork. Core ingredients are crafted in-house, including traditional spices and seasonings such as togarashi and furikake, tofu and miso paste, which takes six months to make. Soy sauce and salts are house-smoked.

There are classic Saké dishes as well as those unique to Saké Flinders, including Yakitori (brined and slow cooked for a combined 24 hours), then glazed in tare and robata grilled over ancient binchotan charcoal. Late- night diners are catered for until 2am at the downstairs bar from Thursday to Saturday, with the bar closing at 3am.

Royal Stacks lands in Brunswick

Following on from the wildly successful launch of Royal Stacks on Collins Street, CBD, the burger phenomenon is now open at 800 Sydney Road, Brunswick,  Customers can expect the same premium experience with a few small adjustments, including halal options, making it one of Melbourne’s few western restaurants to cater for halal customers. Burger fanatics will enjoy supreme quality, with beef patties made from locally sourced VIC Meats, completely free from antibiotics and hormones at all stages of production.

Some menu twists include new frozen custard flavours, such as rosewater and pistachiobaklava and kanafah (a Levantine cheese pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup), from Mark Mariotti of St Kilda-based 7 Apples.

Customers can enjoy Royal Stacks’ most popular burgers, from the Double Stack with two patties, to the Prince Harry boasting a horseradish, shallot and gherkin mayo sauce; and The King which contains the legendary mac’n’cheese croquettes. As always, the meat is minced fresh daily and all the bread is baked fresh daily too.
