Two beauty looks were created for the show by Mr. Yuji Asano, shu uemura’s International chief make up artist. Inspired by the French Riviera meets 60’s poolside glamour, the look created was elegant and chic, aimed to bring out the inner sultry self.

The first look embraces balmy nights with shu uemura’s chic colour palette to enhance beauty. The eyes are the focus this season, and for this look they were rimmed in black using the shu uemura Soft Gel Pencil with a touch of shu uemura Pressed Eyeshadow in black 990.  The eyes were finished with Natural Volume 1 Lash and Tokyo Lash mascara in black, and using the cult shu uemura Eyelash curler. The base was created using shu uemura’s Instant Glow Stage Performer, followed by the Illuminating Lightbulb foundation. Any areas that required concealing used shu uemura Cover Concealer and finished with the Colourless Loose Sheer Powder. A matte nude lip was applied and this season it can take you from day to evening glamour in an instant.

David Jones OPI

As the official nail partner of the David Jones Spring/Summer 2014 launch OPI were in charge of the nail looks created for the show. Manicures and pedicures were provided using OPI With a nice Finn-Ish, a light metallic bronze, perfect for Summer. OPI official ambassador, Melisa Giraldo worked backstage at the launch to make sure all the nails were runway ready using the OPI Nordic collection.

“The OPI Nordic collection is in perfect synergy with the currents trends we are seeing on the runway. We are seeing lots of warm metallic with cinnamon and toffee hues to unexpected pastels of blue-violet, creamy coral and sea greens . We are also seeing lots of intricate detail and stripes. My very favourite colour in the collection is “OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid”. I also love ‘OPI With a Nice Finn-ish’ teamed with ‘OPI Can’t Afjord Not To’ – which we have just seen on the David Jones S/S Fashion Launch runway which give a warm opulence to summer nails taking you from day to night. These two colours can also look great when accenting your ring finger in the alternate colour or adding a stripe in the  alternating colour” says Melisa.

Nordic Collection by OPI will be available exclusively from 1st August 2014 for a limited time in selected David Jones stores nationally.
