Drawing on a healthy dose of 90’s nostalgia, Le Specs offers a collection for Summer 2015/16 that celebrates the carefree Californian lifestyle. Beach-side meets country club sophistication for highlight styles that are thicker, chicer and more playful.
So-Cal skies are referenced in the washed pastels of purple and peach mirrors, giving that distinctive Le Specs look. Monochrome styles are transformed with marble textures and matte finishes to complement a neutral undercurrent of stone and khaki.
The classic cat-eye is modernised in a curved mask style with metal temple features, while wayfarers are larger with polarised lenses. Round frames are oversized with a bold ‘brow effect’ for a touch of playful irreverence.
Designer, Hamish Tame explains “The collection this season is about a nineties Californian look, done with a Le Specs twist. Imagine a young rebellious Drew Barrymore or Luke Perry wearing grungy round silhouettes, updated with bolder frames, matte finishes and mirrored lenses.” Shot on location at Sydney’s local Bondi Beach by photographer Todd Barry, the California Games campaign features Nathaniel Visser and Emily Baker in the 30 new styles for men and women. The campaign was styled by Jolyon Mason whose energetic flair reflects the Le Specs brand and ethos flawlessly.
The iconic Australian sunglass brand continues to build on its international success, now stocked in over 35 countries worldwide. Le Specs has been spotted on cult influencers Rihanna, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Gigi Hadid and Lady Gaga.
