The urban-bohemian glamazon is the focal point for the Jorge SS13 collection; a celebration of all that is summery, feminine and LA chic.

Flirting with the inner hippie, the Jorge SS13 campaign shots see gorgeous model Avril Alexander lounging around by a pool, or against French windows, with sunlight streaming softly down on the free-flowing fabric of each garment design.

Shot by Cricket Inc, the campaign imagery perfectly captures the laid back aesthetic of California boho that encapsulates the collection.

Printed wide leg pants, cropped tops, fringing and beading play throughout the collection, and staple pieces in soft cottons are paired with bold, almost tribal prints.

The colour palette extends from monochrome hues, to soft neutrals, complemented by splashes of bright colour in graphic patterns.

The “Wanderer” crochet kimono is a perfect rendition of the California chic that drives the collection; in folds of soft neutral fabric and wide kimono-style sleeves with delicate knotting and fringing at the hem. It’s easy to see yourself slipping into this number after a long day sipping iced coffees and flicking through glossy magazines at the beach.

The names of other pieces hint further at the hippie aesthetic that directs the line, the “Peace Out” cropped bralet and the “Free Spirit” fringed muscle shirt compounding the call throughout the collection to “roam free”.

Jorge designer Angela Bauer started out in 2008, designing for a broad, youthful market.  This most recent collection is evidence of her multi-faceted design aesthetic, featuring effortlessly wearable, staple pieces alongside more trend-driven statement pieces.

Both urban and natural, Jorge SS13 is wedged between the city and the sea, at once channeling inner city LA and California’s beautiful beaches, a perfect, Summer-fueled fusion.
