Burberry have released images and behind the scenes shots from their Autumn/Winter 2012/13 campaign, shot by the amazing Mario Testino. The cinematic images are reminiscent of the film noir movies of the 1940s and 1950s. Films of this era was associated with a low-key black-and-white visual style that had roots in German Expressionist cinematography.

Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey is well known for using up-and-coming British talent in his campaigns, and this one was no exception.  Starring English beauty Gabriella Wilde who recently featured in The Three Musketeers with Orlando Bloom, and singer Roo Panes, the editorial was shot with the historic streets of London as the perfect backdrop.

Bailey said of the campaign, “We wanted to play with everything that’s at the heart of the Burberry world – celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way.
