Getting married, but not committed to a traditional ceremony? How does a Vegas-style wedding (complete with Elvis officiating!) sound? No, you don’t need to head to Sin City just yet, with the Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo opening last week right in the middle of the CBD.

The brainchild of bar tzar, Jerome Borazio (Ponyfish Island, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival), the space aims to create fun, inclusive, and more importantly, loving celebrations for couples that want something a little different for their special day. Offering commitment ceremonies around the clock, while traditional wedding ceremonies will be welcome to be booked from the beginning on this month (state law requires an intention of marriage form to be lodged a calendar month in advance).

From the industrial structure down to the quirky, artistic details, the space makes for the perfect solution for couples wanting to celebrate their union in a memorable way. Offering everything from an elegant wedding ceremony, to a fun celebration that’s a little more casual all in the heart of the city with classic sit down dinner or cocktail styled reception held just steps away from the ceremony venue, the Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo will soon be one of Melbourne’s most cherished spaces.
