Malvern is set to welcome a new neighbourhood gem this Friday, 29th November, with the opening of The Gardiner Hotel. Situated at the corner of Glenferrie and Wattletree Roads in the historic National Bank building, this multi-level social hub will offer something for everyone, from a bustling public bar to a rooftop terrace and private function rooms. Bookings have already opened, giving locals and visitors the chance to secure their spot ahead of the highly anticipated opening.
The Gardiner Hotel blends traditional pub vibes with modern interiors, providing a warm and inviting space for both casual and special occasions. The ground floor features a vibrant public bar, perfect for sports fans enjoying share plates and pub classics, while the sun-drenched rooftop terrace offers year-round drinking with a retractable roof for cooler months. Guests can also enjoy a dedicated private function room with cozy seating and feature lighting, designed to cater to a variety of gatherings.
Led by Head Chef Michael Flemming, formerly of Arkhe SA and Press Food & Wine, the kitchen serves a seasonal menu full of shareable plates and elevated pub classics. Highlights include smoked beetroot tartare, 14-day dry-aged duck breast, and cauliflower cheese croquettes. The venue also offers family-friendly options, weekly specials like a rotating Sunday Roast, and a Community Raffle with prizes benefiting the Cabrini Hospital Foundation.
