The traditional Ladies Day Luncheon at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge on Thursday kicks off an action-packed weekend of high-octane excitement at the Formula 1® 2018 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 with inspired food, beautiful fashion and a star-studded array of guests.

The striking Star Lounge complex located on Turn 12 has been redesigned ahead of the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 with a relaxed Mediterranean theme, making it the perfect venue for a laidback start to the weekend’s activities via one of the hottest events of the entire weekend, Thursday’s Ladies Day Luncheon. From Friday until the conclusion of Sunday’s race, the Star Lounge will be available for the exclusive use of invited Mercedes-AMG customers.

This year’s luncheon featured one of Australia’s most sought-after designers, Aje, who have been anointed as the coveted ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Aje co-founders Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris presented a five-piece edit specially curated for the Ladies Day Luncheon, and will chat with MC Magdalena Roze about the collection, their success and inspiration.

Guests can also look forward to a theatrical demonstration of ‘flair’ cocktail making from expert bartender Clinton Weir, while delicious canapés and sweet treats will be served by Maha chef and Mercedes-Benz Friend of the Brand, Shane Delia. Shane’s motivation was to introduce a creative foodie element for women to enjoy, breaking down the barriers to what is traditionally considered a male-focused event.

Female celebrities, media and VIPs are expected to attend include Jessica Hart (model), Kate Peck (TV presenter), Laura Dundovic (TV presenter), Lola Berry (TV presenter/nutritionist), Sarah Czarnuch (model/influencer), Brooke Meredith
(model/wellness editor), Chyka Keebaugh (TV personality/businesswoman), Rebecca Harding (model), Helen O’Connor (fashion designer), Yeojin Bae (fashion designer) and Brodie Harper (TV presenter/model).

The Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge will also play host to a fleet of the latest Mercedes-AMG models, plus the first fully-electric vehicle from Mercedes-Benz, the EQC. This family-sized SUV was unveiled in Australia for the first time this
week, and customers at the Star Lounge across the Grand Prix weekend will be among the first in the world to get a glimpse of the vehicle that leads the company’s charge into an ‘electrifying’ future. Other notable models on display include the rugged Mercedes-AMG G 63, the latest evolution of the legendary G-Wagen; the newly launched Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé; the Mercedes-AMG GT4, a racetrack-ready customer sport racing car; the new Mercedes-Benz GLE large SUV; and a Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula 1® show car.

Across the course of the weekend a host of notable guests will visit the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge for exclusive interview opportunities, including Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, team reserve driver Esteban Ocon and Mercedes-AMG Safety Car driver Bernd Maylander.

The Ladies Day Luncheon at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge has become one of the most sought-after tickets of the Australian Grand Prix weekend, says Mercedes-Benz CEO and Managing Director, Horst von Sanden. “It is now something of a tradition that we kick off the Australian Grand Prix weekend in the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge with the Ladies Day Luncheon,” he said. “Mercedes-AMG is woven into the fabric of this wonderful event, both on and off the track, and we love the enthusiasm of our invited guests each year as they enjoy all the delights on offer.”

The Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 is on now until Sunday, March 17.
