Music and fashion go hand in hand, with styles and sounds working together to map out a certain point in time. Through their collaboration, The Reissue Project, record label Future Classic and le coq sportif have created a collection of limited edition pieces and exclusive tracks, “reissued” and “remixed” from the archives to show exactly how the two worlds complement each other.

The Reissue Project clothing range has been designed by le coq sportif exclusively for the Sydney record label delving into their extensive street and sports wear archives  from the 80s through to the early 90s to develop six new designs inspired by both the heritage of the brand and clubs of today. In return, Future Classic, who boast the likes of Flume, Chet Faker, Flight Facilities and more on the roster, has reissued tracks from their own archives, bringing them up to date with new remixes available exclusively via this collaboration.

“This will be the second collaboration we’ve done with le coq sportif after we previously worked with them …We like their vibe…it’s been fun coming up with ideas that connect our two worlds” says Nathan McLay, Founder of Future Classic, with Charles Hurtebize, Brand Manager for le coq sportif adding, “the collaboration between Future Classic and le coq sportif is a natural fit for us. With le coq sportif’s long standing heritage as the original French sports and streetwear brand, and Future Classic one of Australia’s most respected independent record labels, the collaboration brings the best of fashion and music together to celebrate and give new life to these originals.”

The collection channels retro style in modern fits – drop crotch fitted track pants, fleeced jumpers, classic raglan tees, a reversible jacket and bucket hat. Glow in the dark and reflective details for dark clubs and parties feature on classic sports pieces channeling the street wear aesthetic and athleticism of le coq sportif – each piece brings the two worlds together. The limited edition collaboration also includes an exclusive varsity jacket, which will be worn by Future Classic artists but will not be available for purchase.

The LCS x FC Reissue Project is available in le coq sportif stores, selected Glue Stores nationally and online now, and every piece from the range comes with a unique code allowing the wearer to download one of the Reissue Project tracks for free.
