Lorraine Lea is inviting everyone to party for a cause this June during their month-long Party for Kids with Cancer® fundraising appeal. The money raised through Lorraine Lea’s home styling parties held across Australia will help facilitate up to 20 Camp Quality family fun days and camps in 2016, and benefit more than 3,000 families living with cancer.

In the past year, Lorraine Lea raised more than $159,000 to help fund the charity’s uplifting programs throughout Australia. These programs are offered free-of-charge to children and their families and aim to give them something to smile about during treatment and remission.

This continued financial aid is vital, particularly in light of a recent PwC report confirming more than 80 per cent of not-for-profit organisations don’t feel confident about meeting the escalating demand for their services over the next 12 months.

Camp Quality Chief Executive Officer Simon Rountree is thankful for Lorraine Lea’s philanthropy in the wake of the not-for-profit sector’s decrease in government funding.

“We’re a charity that delivers services to the public and the ability to plan our programs in advance is essential but increasingly difficult as funds vary considerably from year to year,” Mr Rountree said.

“Every Camp Quality camp costs more than $20,000 – and to continue to offer these programs we need the long- term support of our dedicated sponsors.

“Thanks to the ongoing success of their Party for Kids with Cancer® fundraising initiative, Lorraine Lea is able to sponsor some of our core programs, while their Stylists also donate their time to come and volunteer.”

Camp Quality’s popular family programs build optimism and resilience, and provide children and their families a much-needed respite away from the ordeal of hospital and treatment.

Since 2000, more than $1 million has been raised by Lorraine Lea’s Party for Kids with Cancer® fund to help improve the quality of life experienced by young people living with cancer throughout the country.

During this month’s drive, people can buy one or two bears, PJ (the brown bear) and Heather (pink bear) with $3 sale of every bear sold going towards Camp Quality.
