OAKS DAY 2015 TREND REPORT

Femininity reigned supreme on Crown Oaks Day. Traditionally known as “Ladies’ Day”, overt femininity and saccharine colour palettes saturated the Flemington Birdcage in all their glory.

The style set embraced lace and intricate embellishments, with models Steph Smith, Laura Henshaw, Elyse Knowles and Brooke Meredith epitomising the day’s biggest trends clad in soft pink and ivory lace ensembles. Scherri-Lee Biggs and Lauren Phillips amped things up in brighter, punchier pink hues, while Rebecca Judd added a pop of the day’s signature colour via a show stopping Danica Erard headpiece.

Model and Swisse ambassador Ashley Hart put her own twist on the theme, slipping into a heavily embellished Dolce & Gabbana frock teamed with flamenco-esque styling as Jennifer Hawkins and Jodi Anasta poured themselves into pastel hues- baby blue and soft pink respectively.

Headpieces were varied, with everything on the spectrum from intricate fine crowns to bold laser cut works of art finding their place trackside. Florals were heavily represented from everything from prints to hair accessories, and styling was kept sweet and pretty- think gently tousled curls, soft makeup and pretty pink accents on the cheeks and lips.
