Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2016 kicked off with a stunning showing at Emporium Melbourne featuring a wonderful range of styles that will be roaming the streets once the sun comes out! We got the lowdown on the beauty looks created by the talented team at Mecca.
NEW ROMANTIC
Unveiling dark angels with cool romantic hues. This look is all about luminous, fresh looking skin, brushed up brows and a deep matte plum lip.
GET THE LOOK
Step 1
Use an illuminator such as Chantecaille Liquid Lumiere in Brilliance and mix with a super, dewy and glowing foundation. TryEllis Faas Skin Veil Foundation and mix 50/50 with the Chantecaille illuminator before buffing onto the skin with circular motions, creating an airbrushed complexion.
Step 2
To cut those cheek bones out, use NARS Contour Blush in Paloma to give your skin a nice contour. Starting at the top of the ear, go down in a diagonal direction and stop at the end of the brow to ensure precision every time. Add Hourglass Luminous Light Ambient Powder to the tops of the cheek bones for that soft focus glow.
Step 3
The first step to every statement lip is exfoliation! Use Mecca Cosmetica Kissable Lips to create the perfect base for every bold colour. The perfect vampy lip colour is NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu. Then to ensure a crisp lip line, useNARS EyeLiner in Mambo on the outer edges to make your pout perfect.
EMERGING RUNWAY
The Emerging Runway show on Sunday 28th showcased the best in up and coming designers. To match, Mecca created a fun and bright look for the show.
This look is statement all the way using intense eyes and statement lips. Not for the light-hearted! The inspiration behind this look was ornamentation of the face, playing with multiple textures from creamy golds to metallic foil.
GET THE LOOK
Step 1
To achieve a runway look at home, instead of gold leaf, try Ellis Faas Eyelights in E303. A beautiful goldy-bronze colour to wash over your eyelids for a metallic finish.
Step 2
To create a bold brow, brush brows up using the Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil and fill in any gaps. To create fullness and set the brow, use NARS Brow Gel in Oural.
Step 3
To create that avant-garde lip use Two-Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Who’s Zoomin*. Apply by lining the outer edges of the lips first and follow by filling in the lip to create that coverage of intense pigment and colour.
