After the success international retailers such as Zara, Topshop and H&M have had in Australia, MRP, one of South Africa’s most-loved value fashion retailer has come to join the party. Their first Australian store is set to open in Melbourne Central. The 1,000m2 space is set to open in 22 October 2015.  “We are thrilled to be opening our doors in the heart of Melbourne,” said MRP Managing Director, Nicci Lyne. “Upon walking into Melbourne Central, we knew we’d found the prime location to begin our Australian journey, and we can’t wait to move in! “We believe fashion is for everyone which is why we offer the latest looks at an everyday great price.”

Melbourne Central General Manager Leigh Dunn said, “The Melbourne city retail landscape has experienced huge revitalization. Melbourne Central is proud to be a part of this consumer-driven change that cements the CBD as Melbourne’s essential shopping destination. We know that MRP’s mix of affordable and fashion-forward pieces will be a huge drawcard for Melbourne Central customers and the popular brand is a perfect complement to the other fashion retailers we have on offer.”

With over 440 apparel stores, mainly in Southern Africa, and a highly successful online store which ships worldwide, MRP felt the time was right to extend their value proposition to Australia. “As a business based in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re able to offer Australians a relevant, seasonal trend-led assortment,” said MRP CEO, Stuart Bird. “While initially we will focus on our MRP apparel stores, there is potential to follow with our mrpHome and mrpSport divisions”. Guided by their core beliefs of passion, value and partnership, the business looks set for continued growth. In describing what makes MRP such a special brand, Nicci Lyne, said: “Along with an absolute love of fashion, our values are at the heart of everything we do, whether it’s making a high-end trend accessible, surprising our customers with unbelievable value or sharing the success of our business with our staff.”
