With Mother’s Day fast approaching and if you still don’t have the clearest idea on what to get mum, it’s not too late. Why not try and give mum the night off? If you can’t cook, we’ve got you covered. But why just the night? She should have the whole DAY off (it is her day after all). We’ve already made some suggestions for some of Melbourne’s best High Tea’s [click here], but here are some suggestions for lunch or dinner!

Cecconi’s

Give mum the night off at one Melbourne’s freshest Italian eateries. Remodelled and reworked, Cecconi’s is delicious and that’s just the interior décor. The food on the other-hand speaks for itself with both classics and modern reinventions to delight diners. Cecconi’s is one classy act.

Los Latinos

A hidden gem in the western suburbs, this little restaurant is all about family. Serving traditional Latin American food (not Mexican or Spanish as I’ve been told), this place is as close as you’ll get to South America without leaving the country.

Laksa King

Let’s be clear, there have been many challengers, contenders and pretenders but nothing else comes close. Laksa King is the undisputed champ. Not only will you get the best laksa in the world (my world is pretty small and doesn’t include Malaysia), cheap and cheerful is the name of the game. Long live the King!
