Summer is almost here, and aside from going in search of the perfect new season wardrobe, it’s time to get our bodies out of the winter rut and back to being fit and healthy. If you’re like me and lack motivation to work out on your own, then Nike Training Club might just be for you! NTC is a global fitness community of women linked by a drive for fitness, and has just opened at Melbourne Central. Trust me, this space will make you want to work out.

With city views, inspirational quotes on the walls, and instruction from Nike Master Trainer, Lexi, the classes focus on the mantra that strong is the new sexy – and the promise that you’ll be sore the next day.

We were invited to try the Get Lean workout, focusing on total body strength and agility, and with a mixture of weight training and cardio intervals. The best part about NTC is that you don’t have to be an Olympian to join in; each circuit and weight size of each workout is customisable to your fitness level, and you can build on it each time you attend.

We also got to try the new Nike Pro Limitless Tank and Tights and the Nike Zoom Fit Agility shoe – all specifically designed for workouts like this – and were impressed with how light they felt and (importantly) kept us dry even after such a high intensity workout.

If you want to join in the fun of the club, NTC runs classes every Tuesday night at 6:00pm, and as of the 15th of November, Saturdays at 9:30am. If you want to continue your fitness journey with Nike, get the N+TC app. The full-body training app caters to every level of fitness. Athletes (“if you have a body, you are an athlete”) can choose four-week programs or one-off workouts in order to chase their goals of getting lean, toned or strong. The N+TC App features more than 100 workouts, and just like the physical classes, it’s free!

You’ll find the NTC Melbourne training space on level 2 of Melbourne Central.
