Walking into the Hilton at Melbourne South Wharf, you could be mistaken for thinking this was just another luxury hotel with all the usual fancy trimmings. However this summer, Hilton Melbourne South Wharf and DoubleTree by Hilton on Flinders Street are partnering with the very cool and hip, Sage x Clare, to transform guest rooms into the city’s very own summer sleepover.

Upon entering our slumber escape perched high above the Melbourne city skyline, we were immediately greeted with brightly coloured pillows and quilts as well as hand-knitted crochet beanbags and oddly shaped tissue balloons dangling from the ceiling. Our room on the 15th floor reminded me of a beach house we used to go to with the family when I was a kid!

Inspired by all things Australian, rooms have been individually tailored to provide the ultimate urban summer escape for Melbournians and visitors to the city during the warmer months – a far cry from the often stark, dreary décor of some other inner city locations.

Summer Sleepover aside, Hilton South Wharf is a great spot for guests to call home. Apart from the obvious CBD attractions, South Wharf is a wonderful place to call home as it is only a short tram ride to the middle of the CBD or even a short walk along the bike paths to Port Melbourne beach. Plus if you get bored, you can always wonder downstairs and pick up some bargains at Direct Factory Outlets (DFO).

So next time you are looking to book accommodation in Melbourne, pamper yourself to a summer sleepover and let your mind wonder!
