The Dion Lee Resort 2013 Collection is a psychedelic exploration into the theory of ocean currents. In the aptly titled Lunar Tides, the designer mimics the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon using clean, neon lines. The result is a multidimensional homage to the forces of nature, that combines neoprene and netting to produce sharply tailored dresses.

In the spirit of fashion innovation, Dion Lee experiments with light reflective fabric to create soft, silver knitwear that “reflects direct light or camera flash, creating a luminous glow.” The rather unorthodox material is fashion out of the “glass particles found in safety clothing and signage”, further cementing Lee’s role as a fashion pioneer.

The fusion of nature and fashion, geometry and fabric makes Lunar Tides one of Couturing’s favorite resort collections as of yet. The collection is photographed by Darren McDonald and is available in stores now.
