Korean skincare brand, innisfree, has really grown in popularity here in Australia since it’s launch in 2018. With over 10 stores now in Australia, the brands strength lies in its range of skincare and makeup products that are effective and affordable. Many of their products are on high rotation in my skincare regime including the Green Tea Seed serum which is a super boost of moisture and nutrients to the skin, and my most recent addition to my regime is the Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2x.

What is it?

The Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X is a rinse-off clay mask that uses volcanic clusters from Jeju Island, the nutrient rich island where many of the core ingredients are sourced for innisfree’s range of products. The mask is one of innisfree’s top sellers due to its efficacy in minimising pore size. The multi-action mask is twice as powerful in absorbing the excess oil from the skin as well as extracting impurities to reduce the visibility of pores that helps to improve the clarity and texture of skin. It provides a deep cleanse and exfoliation due to the AHA and Walnut shells included in the formulation.

How I found it?

I’ll be honest, sometimes I find clay masks a bit much for my skin as it draws out the impurities but also the moisture. However, with innisfree’s Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X, I didn’t have this experience at all. The mask left my skin feeling clean but also hydrated and supple.

The mask has a creamy texture and is relatively lightweight. Applying is simple with either your fingers or with a brush, and the consistency is just right so it can be spread evenly across the skin and isn’t prone to dropping as you apply. It only requires 10 minutes on your face to do its magic and doesn’t dry out so much that it leaves your face motionless or super tight. Wash off with warm water using your fingers in a circular motion to remove the mask.  Definitely make sure you have a beauty headband to protect your hair from the clay and also use a cloth to remove the remnants of the mask after clearing most of it with your fingers.

I have incorporated this mask into my skincare regime on a weekly basis to give my pores a good clean and remove the impurities from my skin. Given you only need a small amount for each use, and the price of the mask is $22, it’s an affordable and effective addition to your routine.
