Australian Beauty has come a long and it’s being celebrated in the best way at Mecca with the launch of the A-beauty box. The special edition box features some of Australia’s best loved and known brands together to showcase the best of what we offer. Priced at just $99.95, the box features Go-To’s Face Hero, Sand & Sky’s Australian Pink Clay Face Mask and frank body’s A-Beauty Scrub & Original Coffee Scrub. We caught up with co-founder of frank body, Bree Johnson, to talk about Australian beauty.

1. It’s so great to see us celebrate the best in Australian Beauty with the A-beauty Box.
How does it feel to be one of the best in Australian beauty?

That’s very kind to say. We never wanted to be a brand that takes itself too seriously and 6 years later, we continue to have fun with skincare. If we can be a leader in the natural skincare space, help our customers with their skin concerns and still be having fun along the way, well that feels pretty damn good. 

2. You’ve recently moved more into using native ingredients in your products. Tell us how you discovered some of these ingredients and what they are?
Australia has hundreds of unique native Australian ingredients and we wanted to incorporate these in our new A-Beauty Scrub. We used Kakadu Plum, Eucalyptus, Macadamia Oil and Finger Lime for their skin benefits and delicious fragrance. Eucalyptus is probably the most commonly used Australian ingredient, used in anti-acne treatments for decades for its antibacterial, anti-fungal and soothing benefits and as an at home remedy in the treatment of common cold and flu symptoms. While Finger Lime is a powerful natural AHA known to target pigmentation. 

3. How have you integrated them into your products? 
The A-Beauty Scrub was the first time we have incorporated Australian native ingredients in our product formulations and we are looking to incorporate more Australian natives in upcoming product formulations. We have used Eucalyptus in our new Caffeinated Hair Mask for targeting calming inflammation of the scalp and helping to stimulating hair follicles. 

4. The A-beauty box includes your hero product the original Coffee scrub and the A-beauty scrub. What’s the feedback you get from people who use your products and are they suited for different types of skin or for different purposes?
The Coffee Scrubs are suitable for all skin types and all work to exfoliate, removing dead skin cells and leaving skin smooth and soft. The Scrubs are well known for their treatment in the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks and helping to alleviate skin concerns such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. The new A-Beauty Scrub also has the added benefits of brightening and reducing pigmentation with Finger Line and Kakadu Plum which has the highest natural concentration of Vitamin C of all fruits.

We find once someone buys one scrub they often buy another so pairing them together works well.

5. The brand has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings and it’s doing so well worldwide! What’s next for frank body? 
We are always working to extend and improve our range and we have some incredible formulations in the works. We are also looking to launch an entire new category next year. Watch this space.
