Thursday 3rd

After the influx of celebrations with Christmas and New Years just passing, you may be a bit money conscious or just plain exhausted, a night in could be just what you need. Whether you choose to rent a movie, watch the tv, or just do your laundry, bask in the comfort of your tracksuit pants. If you’re still feeling a little bit social put those cook books you got for Christmas to good use and invite your friends over for dinner.

Meditate in Melbourne

Buddhist Nun and International Spiritual Teacher Gen-La Kelsang Dekyong will be helping Melbournians find their inner peace at Federation Square from 7pm. We’re all invited to experience spiritual enlightenment through an hour of free meditation. A great way to perhaps tick off one of those new year’s resolutions and pursue a new hobby, but remember to BYO cushion. You’d hate to try and relax on a cold, hard surface.

Rooftop Honey
Dozens of local businesses are embracing the new concept of beekeeping right on their very own rooftops. Café owners and staff are learning to extract, keep and use their very own honey. Not only superb for their business and the environment, but absolutely delicious. Check out their website to see the list of cafes and businesses who are taking part in this delightfully green initiative.

Freshly Baked Gallery
Freshly Baked Gallery is revolutionising the way we look at and purchase art. Freshly Baked Gallery is based in Fitzroy and showcases artists from all over the world, displaying their art all online through a virtual gallery. A very cool concept that I think galleries will be embracing more in this digital age we live in.
