1. OPI (free)


Customise your nail length and skin tone and test out the latest or classic OPI polishes on your phone. Combining your virtual hand with hundreds of OPI shades, the OPI app lets you test out the latest colours or perhaps find one that suits your mood! With so many polishes in the OPI range with fantastic names, you’ll definitely find something that suits your needs.


2. Lancome (free)


French luxury cosmetic house Lancome has produced an app that has Lancome’s official make up ambassador, Michelle Phan, guide you through video tutorials.  Furthermore, the interactive face chart and virtual palette means that you can experiment and create inspiring looks for any occasion.

 

3. Makeup by Modiface (free)


Forget the days of taking a punt at the hairdressers and walking out with a potential disaster. Modiface now has you covered with an app that allows you to trial a vast array of hairstyles by uploading a photo of yourself and trying celebrity hair styles from the likes of Jennifer Anniston to the outrageous Nicki Minaj. Modiface also allows you to test out different lipsticks, eyeshadows, blushes, foundations, mascaras and liners with your hairstyle… simply, you have a hair and makeup artist in your pocket!

 

4. Beauty Genius by Marie Claire


Marie Claire’s Beauty Genius App is a great source for information on latest looks and products. There are helpful tutorials and videos to help you achieve the looks for the season or help you recreate the look of your favourite celebrity! At the moment, Marie Claire, in association with Bobbi Brown, bring you Spring and Summer Looks that feature hot looks straight from the runway. The additional benefit of this app is that you can select your favourite Bobbi Brown product and the app will take you direct to the Bobbi Brown website where you can order what you covet and have it delivered straight to your door!

 

5. How to do your own cute nails (free) 


Forget dull one-dimensional nails: this app transports you beyond the runway looks and lets you explore the notion of your nails as an accessory. This app doesn’t just give you inspirational ideas but also provides you with the tutorials to match.  From nail designs featuring Converse sneakers to those for the festive season, the ‘Cute Nails’ app will show you how to make use of your nails as the ultimate fashion accessory.

 

6. Mark. Beauty and Fashion Trends (free)


Mark. brings you all the latest beauty and fashion trends along with product information and ‘how to’ tutorials. Forget that panda-eye fear and learn from the best with celebrity eye charts and video tutorials on how to create that envious smokey look.

 

7. Total Beauty (free)


The Total Beauty app is akin to the Wikipedia of the Beauty world. More than 280,000 people have reviewed over 45,000 beauty products, from luxury products to ones bought from the pharmacy. Despite it being an American based app, most products are also available in Australia. Take this little beauty on your next shopping trip to ensure your bathroom contains nothing but 5-star products.

 

8. Kevin.Murphy (free) – Only for iPad/Android

    


With a huge range of content, including informative and instructional images, videos and podcasts, it’s easy to claim the Kevin.Murphy app as a godsend. Become an expert on KM products, learn more about hair and also learn more about the KM mission to reduce CO2 emissions in salons. The app also contains previews of upcoming products and deals, and features regular ‘Whats Hot’ and ‘How To Do Your Do’ podcasts and videos.

9.  Myer Emporium (free) – Only for iPad


Previously exclusive to MyerOne members, the retail giant’s quarterly magazine has now become available to the general public via the iTunes App store. Explore the latest beauty and fashion available in-store at Myer. Be inspired and be on trend with this app.

 

10. Viewa (free)

Bring your two dimensional magazines to life with the Viewa app. Once downloaded, select the corresponding channel to your magazine and hold your device over the logo. For online shopping purposes, you are transported directly to not only the brand’s website, but to the product itself. With a wave of your iPhone, watch a quick tutorial on ‘how to’ achieve a model’s look. This app is exclusive to ACP magazines such as Grazia, Myer Emporium, Harper’s Bazaar and Shop Til You Drop.
