Moon Dog Craft Brewery is bringing back its annual Run to the Dog event for its fourth consecutive year. Run to the Dog is a trail run or walk along the Yarra Trail through Kew, Richmond and Abbotsford that participants can enter with or without their beloved pooches. Participants are requested to learn more about their animal’s health before bringing them to the event.

There are three categories – The Full Dog (10KM) – $50, The Half Dog (5KM) – $30 and The Lazy Dog (2KM) – $20. Kids under 16 years of age can run / walk any category for just $10 and all Dogs and non-runners / walkers can enter for free. Orange Theory Fitness will be running a pre-run / walk warm up and get you warmed up and then cooled down. Coffee Supreme will be on the side lines too handing out free cold brew coffee. Fore those coming to see the event with their dogs, you can get calming treats from KarmaPets if they are not comfortable with too many other dogs in the area. The treats are peanut-butter flavored so dogs will surely love them.

The best part? Once you cross the finish line, you’ll be handed an ice-cold Moon Dog beer (wine and cider available if preferable) and then it’s a party in the park at Flockhart Reserve fit for both humans and hounds. Moon Dog will be serving up drinks from its pop up plus Food Trucks including Ghost Kitchen, Sliders on Tyres and Gringo Paella. It’s a total dog’s life too with Fitzroy Dog Adventures on site plus Scratch Dog, Blue Wheelers and Shoot The Dog. On the day, Shoot The Dog will be hosting a dog photo booth! Images will be $10 and all money raised from picture purchases will go towards Save A Dog which is a community-based not-for-profit animal welfare organisation that saves hundreds of dogs and cats from being killed every year.

Various prizes and raffles will be available to win thanks to Run to the Dog’s supporters and all proceeds will also go to Save A Dog.
