Spring Racing is here and whilst the focus is on the dress, millinery and beauty look, here are some handy must-have items that you need for Spring Racing.
Sunscreen
Don’t forget to slip, slop, slap. Make sure that you cover exposed skin with sunscreen and make sure you reapply during the day to save your skin from the nasty effects of the sun meaning that you need to protect your face and body. The last thing you want is to be one of ‘those’ people who are red like lobsters and have to live with bad tan lines for the rest of the season. Plus who knows what kind of skin damage you will get from getting burnt!
For the face, we pick Guinot’s Ultra UV Defence SPF 50 ($54) , a sun cream with very high sun protection against UVA and UVB rays, which does not leave white film on the skin. Use on the face to give the ultimate sun protection and prevent a red nose and bad tan lines before Summer.
Also for the face, Dermalogica’s Solar Defense Booster SPF 50 ($62) is a customisable sunscreen formulated specifically to add SPF to your moisturise and makeup. A must-have for your face to protect against sun damage to face skin and the best part is that it’s formlated for use under makeup and with your moisturiser without giving that heavy sunscreen feeling.
For the body, the Cancer Council’s Classic Zinc Sunscreen ($14.95) in SPF50 provides good coverage and protection for the body and up to 4 hours water resistance (in case you decide to take a dip at the Races!).
For the hair, it’s good to have a hair oil to give your hair hydration and shine.
