The leading destination for contemporary fashion and culture, Melbourne’s GPO, celebrated the new season of autumn/winter collections last night in true style. Partnering with fashion’s most exclusive, Harper’s Bazaar, the installation showcased a visual exhibition from fellow MGPO boutique holders such as Sass & Bide, LIFEwithBIRD, Gorman and Alpha 60.

Creating and contributing to the visual symphony were the designers who dipped back into their minds to explore and expose their inspirations for their autumn/winter collections. Appropriately entitled ‘Muse’, the aesthetic exploration captures the moments of sartorial wisdom in a perfect whirlwind of fabric, structure and styling.

Several decadent Oyster Bars and Fromageries scattered the ground floor as guests readily helped themselves to the generous fountain of delicacies, topped off with a glass of champagne. Australian model and presenter, Rebecca Judd, alongside several other models wore the inspired autumn/winter styles each designer embodied.

Whether it was the abundance of aphrodisiacs or the overflowing bubbly that encouraged guests to hop in front of TuTuCrazy’s camera for the Muse Instagram competition, striking a pose was as easy as 1, 2, click. Featuring items from the designers of MGPO, guests posed for the camera with their chosen fashion items to win a generous shopping prize.

With several boutiques offering shopping discounts, meet and greets with the designers and gifts on purchase, the crowd was buzzing with excitement as they continuously conquered an overflowing fountain of champagne, oysters and cheese whilst browsing the new autumn/winter 2013 collections.

An appropriately glamorous party for a glamorous fashion venue.

The Muse installation will continuously run at Melbourne’s GPO for the rest of this month so be sure to check it out. Time to update your wardrobe for autumn!
