Mecca Cosmetica has always been the go-to place for beauty aficionados and now there is a new store at Melbourne’s Emporium where you can test, trial and shop to your heart’s content. The new store is in a premium location at Emporium and boasts an interior design fit out that would make the most ardent interior designers jealous.

Mecca continues to raise the customer experience in this new store with luxury marble finishes, beautiful custom made chandeliers, different textures and detailing on fixtures and walls. Each of these design elements helps to break up the store into different focus areas featuring different types of products and brands. Walking into the store is like walking into beauty heaven and it’s hard to know where to start but what caught my attention was the beautiful orchid on a marble table surrounded by beautiful fragrance bottles.

The Mecca Perfumeria has a wonderful selection of exclusive fragrance brands such as Diptyque, Byredo, Frederic Malle and Le Labo.  There are in-store experts on hand to take customers through the Perfumeria and help them find the perfect scent.  I was surprised at the olfactory skills of these experts. I mentioned I loved fresh floral fragrances and instantly my in-store expert Chris, suggested at least five perfumes for me that fit my criteria perfectly (including two I already owned!). The Perfumeria is truly a sensory experience and if you are visiting, definitely worth spending some time to find a fragrance for you.

The store features an area for makeup brands such as NARS, Hourglass, Ellis Faas and Stila where you can see and try the whole range and a skincare area that features cult brands such as Sunday Riley, Rodin Olio Lusso and Kate Sommerville. Mecca Emporium is also the go-to destination for cult Japanese brand Tatcha which launches exclusively at the store upon opening.

The wonderful thing about the Mecca stores is that there is such a fantastic opportunity to see a brand’s range as well as try and compare products during your visit. The staff are always helpful as well as knowledgeable, listening to what you like and want so that your visit is tailored for you.

If you want to amp up a visit to Mecca, you can book in a makeup application booking with one of the highly trained expert makeup artists. It’s such a fantastic opportunity to have your face worked on by masters of the industry. I took the opportunity to book in for a makeup application during my visit at Mecca emporium and it gave me the opportunity to try a new look as well as having the opportunity to try new products. The depth of knowledge and the high level of skill of Chris my in-store expert was on show during the time I spent having my makeup done. Not only was he a wizard with perfumes, he was also a genius in creating a natural look that suited me but was also able to get the correct shade of foundation for me without having to do any tests.

Mecca Emporium has it all for all lovers of Beauty or even if you’re not, it’s a design lovers dream and definitely a go-to place to find a beauty present for those you love (it even has a dedicated gift wrap bar to help wrap those presents!)

The new Mecca Cosmetica Emporium is now open at Emporium Level 1, 287 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
