The perfect mix of sports luxe and elegant silhouettes, Toni Maticevski’s latest Resort collection show once again why he is not only Australia’s top talents, but one of the most skilful designers in the world today.

Based on a palette of black, white, grey and fluorescent orange, Maticevski has showed his expertise in tailoring by creating classic forms with unexpected fabrications. Neoprene and leather wrap the body like a second skin, while ruffled edges and delicate embellishments brings out the feminine side to the collection.

Racerback tops blend seamlessly with croc-print leather and fit and flare silhouettes magically maintain their regal feel despite being paired with black ankle boots.

The shapes and tailoring draw inspiration from the elegant styles of the 1940’s and 50’s, while prince of whales check jersey and shimmering black brocade add a modern touch. There is a focus on the waist, with full skirts and hip detailing designed to emphasise the female form. Hemlines vary from knee length to floor, with crop tops and sheer paneling adding an air of intrigue to the garments.

Following on from the success of his Spring/Summer Tomboy Heiress collection, Maticevski’s girl has grown up and taken on a sinister edge and continues to experiment with her proportions and perceptions of beauty.

Maticevski has once again combined concepts that shouldn’t work together, applied his magic, and created a perfectly curated collection that will have every woman wishing their wardrobe was full of Maticevski this season.

Maticevski is available from Myer, Green With Envy, Christine and Ganache Boutique.
