International style icon Margherita Maccapani Missoni will be returning to Australia as a guest of Lavazza for Derby Day. Recently here with the Missoni family to launch the successful Missoni for Target collaboration, Missoni has previously collaborated with Lavazza for the 2013 Lavazza ¡Tierra! Limited Edition for Africa project, which made her an obvious choice to be Lavazza’s international guest.

15“Well-recognised for her fashionable and eclectic sense of style, as well as her dedication to her family and its iconic brand, Margherita was the perfect choice to join the Lavazza family on Derby Day – the race day most synonymous with fashion and style” said Lavazza National Marketing Manager Stuart Smyth of their decision to invite Missoni.

“I am excited to be visiting Melbourne. Everywhere I travel, everything I see inspires me and my creative process. I’m delighted to join Lavazza on Derby Day, I’ve heard so much about it – how fun it is and how beautiful the new Caffé Lavazza is supposed to be. I’m really looking forward to to celebrating the Melbourne Cup Carnival and experience this very Australian experience through Italian eyes.” said Missoni.

As a special guest of Lavazza and the Valmorbida family, Missoni will be enjoying Lavazza’s most refined coffee blend Gran Riserva with guests in Caffé Lavazza. Guest in Caffé Lavazza will also be treated to Lavazza’s ‘From Italy, with Passion’ inspired menu, designed by Melbourne’s iconic Italian restaurant Sarti.

Speaking about her love of Italian food and culture, Missoni said “I would, without a doubt, call myself a foodie – I love coffee and fine food. Lavazza is a brand I am very familiar with, it’s been a part of my life and memories forever – I remember grown-ups drinking it as a child – it’s a proper institution in Italy. I’m ecstatic they’ve invited me to spend this day with them and visit Australia. I am sure it’s an experience that I will never forget.”
