Last night Alex Perry presented an exclusive preview of his beautiful Spring/Summer 2012/13 Ready to Wear collection. The runway music created a party like atmosphere which was perfect for Alex’s glamazon style.

He didn’t disappoint with a beautiful array of dresses and gowns, starting from a monochrome palette of black and white, to beautiful light, flowing gowns with delicate embellishments and lace, and finishing with a burst of sequins and colour, with trademark Alex Perry gowns making a dramatic finish.

Highlights included the red sequin gown worn by Alice Burdeau and a heavily detailed white gown worn by Rachel Rutt. Make up was kept fairly simple with a nude lip and flawless foundation. The drama was in the eyes which we lined with heavy dark eyeshadows, drawn out on the side of the eye, elongating the shape.

There was a great mix of more classic ready-to-wear pieces such as corset tops and black and lace detailed pencil skirts, with full gowns, dripping with embellishments and swathes of material.

The attention to detail and high quality of the pieces which is typical of Alex Perry, was evident in every piece. Viewing each dress backstage, you could see how much care and energy went into creating the collection.

Stay tuned for Couturing’s interview with Alex and a behind the scenes look backstage!
