When it comes to beauty services, I like to keep it simple. Simple, in that I can go to one place and get what I need done in one go. Over the last month I’ve visited to get some much needed beauty treatments.
BB BROWS
Brows are such an important part of framing your face and can make or break a look. The new service offering at Brazilian Butterfly, BB Brows takes brow care to a new level. At the Prahan salon, my beauty adviser showed that taking that extra step in brow care could make a difference. The treatment included your usual waxing and trimming, but also involved some great sculpting and brow makeup application.
I have found that as I get older, my brows are beginning to thin out and this BB Brows treatment highlighted ways for me to improve the structure and depth of my brows in terms of colour and also highlighted the best products to use to enhance my brows.
I’d always been mildly hesitant to tint my brows given I have dark hair, but I’m really glad that this service included a tint. It didn’t make my brows darker, per se, but created a depth and fullness that wasn’t there before.
My beauty adviser did a wonderful job with only a brow pencil to complete my look with a perfect amount of finesse in the feathering of the pencil between my eyebrow hairs and create a natural shape.

Tanning
I am loathe to spend time under the sun because I burn easily, so tanning for me is achieved with a good spray tan. For me, a good spray tan is one that dries quickly, isn’t sticky, doesn’t smell and looks natural once it sets.
I can give the Moroccan tan at Brazilian Butterfly a big green tick to achieving a really great tan. The formulation of the tan was absorbed quickly into the skin and required very little drying using the dryer. The application was easy and two layers provided a nice natural tan colour after a few hours.
Another thing which is important in a salon tan is how the formula leaves your skin, some can dry out your skin whilst this one left my skin feeling nourished and soft.
The tan gradually fades and even after 6 days, I still had a bit of a glow. Before the tan, I made sure to do all the necessary preparation like exfoliating and after the tan, I moisturised every day to maintain the tan. It’s definitely worth the prep and after care, especially after the dollars you’ve spent on a tan, it’s the least you can do.
