Dyson has unveiled its first portable handheld fan, the HushJet Mini Cool fan, marking a new step in the company’s expansion into personal cooling technology. Weighing just 212 grams and offering up to six hours of battery life, the compact device is designed for versatility, functioning as a wearable, desk fan, or handheld unit. Powered by a brushless DC motor reaching 65,000 RPM, the fan delivers airflow speeds of up to 25 metres per second, with five adjustable settings and a Boost mode to suit a range of environments from office use to outdoor heat.

According to Jake Dyson, the product represents years of engineering focused on airflow performance and efficiency. He described the fan as the culmination of Dyson’s long-standing work in refining air projection, reducing turbulence, and advancing thermal technologies. Central to its design is the company’s “HushJet” projection system, which not only maximises airflow power but also prioritises acoustic comfort by minimising high-pitched noise and motor whine, delivering what Dyson calls “pitch-perfect” cooling.

The launch also highlights Dyson’s design philosophy, with the fan available in three distinct finishes—Ink/Cobalt, Carnelian/Sky, and Stone/Blush—each intended to evoke different moods and settings. The device comes with practical accessories including a neck dock, charging stand, USB-C cable, and travel pouch, alongside optional add-ons such as a universal mount and grip clip for increased portability. With this release, Dyson continues to push into lifestyle-focused innovations, blending engineering precision with personalisation and mobility.
