In celebration of Vogue American Express Fashion Night Out, Melbourne Central will transform into an illuminous hub of iridescent events from 10am-10pm Friday 31 August.

Themeing the event around the shimmering, holographic iridescent trend that’s been seen throughout the beauty industry, Melbourne Central will provide multiple opportunities for all visitors to immerse themselves in the whimsical world, including The Wall of Extra, where loaned iridescent coats create the perfect Insta-worthy moment.

Visitors to Melbourne Central will see, snap and share what it’s like to live in a bubble, with the Bubble and Snap experience quite literally creating a bubble around event-goers. Providing the perfect backdrop for new social posts will be the Shiny Balloon Land and for those who truly want to embrace the trend, makeover your look at the Holographic Beauty Station where iridescent eye and lip makeovers will be offered on level one and an Intergalactic Nail Salon by I Scream Nails nail art on level two.

Setting the tone for the day will be live DJs and upping the ante at key points will be surprise shows from the iridescent-donning, disco-inspired drag queens of the Broken Heel Festival.

Passionate about shining a light on emerging talent, Melbourne Central will display RMIT’s Fashion Film Showreel, featuring the work of the university’s design students, and finally, a friendly game of Sparkly Ring Toss of Dreams will see participants compete for prizes from popular retailers.

Highlighting the precinct’s commitment to creating culturally relevant and social-worthy experiences for it’s visitors, Melissa Polglase, Marketing Manager commented: “Melbourne Central’s approach for this VAEFNO was inspired by what’s trending with millennials on social and in-store. We’ve used that inspo to create must-visit spaces that enhance their night.

“With so many great offers across the precinct, our Iridescent Party becomes a celebratory zone to unwind and have some insta-worthy fun.”

Following the popularity of previous events, shoppers will now be able to jump the event queues by spending $100 or more at Melbourne Central on the day. More information can be found here www.melbournecentral.com.au/what-s-happening/iridescent-party
