Champagne and Chanel are two words that are sacred on every fashion gal’s lips, and this year Melbourne’s Paris to Provence Festival is making our hearts beat a little faster by combing the two.

From food to wine, music to fashion, the Mercedes Paris to Provence, Melbourne French Festival celebrates the very best of French culture. Founded by Laura Rancie to celebrate her French heritage and showcase the best  of French culture, Paris to Provence is Australia’s largest gathering of the native French community. Indeed, this weekend more than 14,000 francophiles are expected to visit this extraordinary French pop up village.

Taking place at the historical Como House and Gardens, these opulent surrounding will make you feel like you’ve been transported to Les Jardin de Luxembourg. With more than 70 exhibitors, including some of Melbourne’s favourite cheese and wine producers, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to France – no passport necessary!

This year, the festival will be adding an extra touch of Parisian chic to the proceedings with a one of a kind exhibition, Coco at Como. A unique celebration of the life and style of Coco Chanel, Coco at Como showcases an extraordinary collection of rare pieces from the iconic fashion house’s illustrious history.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a sneak preview of this stunning exhibition and from the moment we walked through the door, we were in Chanel heaven. Housed in the Como House Ballroom, the space has been transformed into a re-imaging of Mademoiselle Chanel’s Rue Cambon apartment, a visual feast for lovers of maximalist interior design. A treasure trove of sartorial gems curated by Richard Gilbert, CEO of TheUpstyler and Madam Virtue & Co, Coco at Como showcases some of the most exquisite pieces we’ve ever seen. From complete vintage outfits to a stunning display of iconic 2.55 bags, this is an event that no Chanel lover should miss.
