As one of the hottest precincts in Tokyo, Ginza is the perfect blend of old and new Japan. This makes it the ideal home for Millenium Mitsui Garden Hotel Tokyo, one of the country’s newest hotels which opened late last year.

Situated just a stone’s throw away from Ginza 4-chome intersection, the center of one of Japan’s best-known shopping and entertainment districts, it offers one of the premium locations for anyone visiting Japan. The hotel is also a short walk away from Higashi-Ginza Station making it easy to see all the sites and sounds of Toyko.

Although the fitout is very modern, the interiors take inspiration from traditional Japanese design. The bold light display which forms a statement wall in the lobby, is carefully juxtaposed against the white light walls which lead into the lift area.

The hotel contains 329 guestrooms which offer sweeping views of Ginza’s bustling streets. Each room is fitted out with satellite TV, bidet toilets, safe deposit boxes, complimentary Wi-Fi and humidifiers.

There are rooms for a range of budgets. If you want to treat yourself, I would highly recommend staying in one of the hotel’s unique concept rooms such as the Gold Leaf Room and Pearl Room. The Gold Leaf Room and Pearl Room is a result of the hotel collaborating with established Japanese brands Hakuza and Mikimoto Cosmetics. Not only do the rooms provide you with products from the high-end brands, but the décor is inspired by the products for example the Gold Leaf Room is punctuated with gold covered cushions, décor and furniture. This is a great opportunity for the hotel to support local brands and give them a way to showcase them to travellers from around the world.

The hotel offers an in-house restaurant, NiKo, which serves up a buffet and a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner focused around a fusion of French, Italian and Japanese cuisine. Ingredients are sourced from nearby markets highlighting the hotels desire to support the local community. The hotel also collaborates with local establishments such as the Kabukiza Theatre and Mitsukoshi department store to offer benefits to guests.
