In super secret Knowles’ fashion, Solange surprised the world by announcing her marriage to video director, Alan Ferguson along with the stunning official portraits. Marrying in her adopted New Orleans, Solo and her longtime partner kept it cute and quirky in the family-oriented affair. Inspired by the unconventional looks? Let us help you get the look!
THE BRIDAL LOOKS
Widely considered as a fashion icon, Solange had not one, but five caped looks across her ceremony. Our favourites were her cream Stéphane Rolland jumpsuit she wore on her way to the wedding and her stunning caped ceremony gown created by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, complete with minimalistic gold cuffs.
While not everyone will opt for a jumpsuit in place of a gown, you can match the chic, caped looks with some of our favourite designers. To steal her style, we love Biyan’s ‘Istia’ embellished crepe gown, Roland Mouret’s ‘Ella’ wool-crepe gown, and Carla Zampatti’s ‘Diamond’ Cut Out Maxi Dress.
Joining a growing trend in weddings, Solange and Alan encouraged guests including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Janelle Mornae and others to join them in wearing white. The end result is striking, and for artistic types like Solange, it gives you ample room to play with interiors; knowing that every image captured will be on theme with your special day…and cuts out any colour drama with your bridesmaids!
Solange has solidified herself as a a hipster hero, so how else was she to arrive to the ceremony than on custom his-and-hers bikes? We love this idea, and while it may not be dress-friendly, is such a cute way to mark your arrival to your wedding. You can find similar at Papillionaire, or through vintage stores, that will add a sense of whimsy to your ceremony. To finish the look, add a fresh bouquet of flowers in lieu of a basket.
