Couturing Makeup Artist Georgia Walsh, talks about the best Met Gala makeup looks and what products to use to get it.

The Met Gala is the highlight of the fashion year with an array of celebrities and fashionistas gracing the red carpet for the most lavish evening on the fashion calendar. Picking the perfect dress to match the Met Gala’s theme is important but picking the right makeup look is just as important to create that ‘wow’ factor on the red carpet. Here are some of my favourites.

This beauty barely needs a stitch of makeup anyway, but her look for the 2015 Met Gala is perfect. She nailed it head to toe. Her makeup and hair is natural and soft but also enhanced. Nothing is over done, rather she is understated and glamorous. Top points: Strategic highlighting. Try: RMS Living Luminizer ($48).  Team it with a light nude shadow on the eye lid and a neutral sand/pink from the crease to the brow bone and a swish of black liner.

Good genes? Yes. Flawless makeup? Yes. These two sisters took a leaf out of Kendall Jenner’s book and kept things super simple and glowing. Eyes were softly enhanced with shadow and simple liner, a few false lashes and  rose or berry lip and done. Once again skin is perfect and radiant. Top Points: Liner and lashes. Try: MAC Fluidline ($38)

You don’t have to be a famous actress or model to look this gorgeous! Amal’s makeup is perfect. So simple and elegant. It is as makeup should be: invisible. It honestly looks like she isn’t wearing any and she is just THAT beautiful. Which may be true. Top Points: On trend berry Lip. Try: Chantecaille Lip Chic in Nocturne ($45). Team it with a cheek stain rather than a powder blush, for a more natural, glow from within. I love the By Terry Hyaluronic Blush ($54)

Kate may not be releasing any big movies at the moment, so has taken a bit of a backseat to the limelight this year, but oh my gosh she looks flawless. Perfect hair, perfect makeup, perfect colour choices. She looks immaculately groomed. All of the top spots on our list have gone to celebrities who’s makeup and hair is clean, fresh and expertly executed. Kate fits right in. Top Points: Warm winter flush Try: NARS blush in Seduction ($39). For eyes like Kate’s focus your liner in the outer two thirds of the upper lid and the outer third of the lower lid and water line. Perfect for this job would be the Stila Smudge Stick ($29)

This might come as a shock, but Madonnna killed it. She did not look even half her age, her makeup was soft and beautiful and perfectly executed. Her soft waves framed her face with the right amount of rock and the right amount of class. Yes, I’m shocked too. Top Points: Grunge nude lip turned chic Try: Nars Audacious Lip Colour in Barbara ($44). Keep it simple with a decent black winged eyeliner and false lashes.
