Couturing were invited to preview the hair and make up trials for the upcoming L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF). LMFF Head of Creative & Designer Resources, Yolanda Finch. Together with official L’Oreal Paris and LMFF Make-Up Director, Rae Morris, and LMFF Hair Directors Caterina Dibiase and Brad Ngata workshopped latest hair and beauty trends for the upcoming autumn/winter season as they ran through key looks specifically tailored for each of the seven L’Oreal Paris Runway shows.

The major trends are as follows:

Bright lips, with deep raspberry, sparkling amethyst and magnetic coral, offset by super matt foundation, a relatively nude face, a little definition on the cheeks and a wet, separated lash. Hair was styled with a super soft dry matt texture with a fallen out curl. Girls would have their natural part used to give some variation of looks.

Pearlescent make up with a pop of pastel. The focus is on the skin looking freshly moisturised and ‘glowy’. Lips can be accented with icy pink to give a pop of colour. The eye would be brushed with pastel colours such as sky blue, lavender or mint green, similar to that seen at the Louis Vuitton runway show. For added impact, you can add a feline eye.

1940’s feel with a modern twist. Skin will be fresh and clean with a strong brown and a wet look contoured eye in a triangular shape. Lips can be left pain or dabbed with a bit of colour.

The session was a great way to build hype about what is shaping up to be an exciting Festival. With a range of different make-up trends to try, there is a little something for everyone.

The 2012 Festival runs from March 8 to 15. Tickets are on sale through Ticketek now so make sure you book your seats for this must see event.
