After spending two weeks in Japan, I fell well and truly under the spell of this beautiful country. The perfect mix of historical and modern sites, Japan has something for everyone.

After basing ourselves in Shinjuku for 7 days, we then headed to the stunning Mount Fuji which was surrounded by various peaceful lakes. With the Autumn leaves turning a firery red and yellow, the rolling slopes were the perfect frame to the mountainous backdrop.

After two days riding around the lakes, we then headed to Kyoto and Osaka to take in more of the historical sites and explore the quirky shops.

If you are looking for a place to escape for a week or two, then I definitely recommend Japan. From shopping, to hiking, old temples and castles mixed with the latest in technology, Japan is a perfect mix of the old and the new.
