Noticing your skin is feeling a bit different with all the mask wearing you’re doing? Well you’re not alone. A face covering limits the amount of fresh air to your face and the warm temperature of your breath can promote the growth of bacteria which can cause breakouts and other nasty skin conditions as well as dry out the area of your face that is covered up. We caught up with the experts at Beauté Pacifique for some tips to help navigate this new normal of face coverings.

Keep your products light and layer up

It is important when you use facial masks during the day that your skin care products for daytime is a bit lighter than the one you normally use.
A good combination for daytime would be Beauté Pacifique Defy Damage Serum. This serum is extremely light, penetrates the skin quite easily. It also contains vitamin A, which is perfect to avoid breakouts, prevent redness and minimise pores. After the serum, we would recommend a light moisturizer for example Beauté Pacifique Oli Free Moisturizer or the Beauté Pacifique Superfruit Day Cream for all skin types.

Make sure you’re sticking to a good cleansing routine

A good cleansing routine morning and evening is essential. For combination skin, we recommend our foaming cleanser, for dry skin we recommend our one step cleanser or, cleansing milk for dry skin.

Boost hydration in your skin

To boost moisture in the skin after cleansing we recommend Superfruit Hydrating Face Mist. It has Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to help minimise pores. If you apply a few liberal spritzes during the day, it will help keep your skin hydrated and minimise dry out from mask wearing.

Minimise the makeup
Avoid applying too much make up and step up your game by using a deep cleansing mask on the chin area 2 times a week. The Deep Pore Cleansing Mask is very effective, but at the same time extremely mild to sensitive skin. Helps to cleanse clogged pores and remove excess sebum.
