Once nicknamed the eternal bachelor, George Clooney has been made an honest man by stunning human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, with the two marrying amid a spectacular Venice celebration. You may not have their guest list, or luxury villas in Italy at your disposal, but you can steal their wedding style. Let us help you!

THE DRESS

Amal is quickly solidifying herself as a fashion icon, so it was no surprise she went for high fashion glamour for the gown. Created by late, great designer Oscar de la Renta, her off the shoulder lace masterpiece is certainly one you’ll want to replicate.

To steal her style, it’s simple; dare to bare…your shoulders, that is! Marchesa offer a very similar gown with a mermaid train and slightly longer sleeves, for the bride that wants to inject a little personal style into the look, while Oscar de la Renthave created the Clara gown – an almost copy of Amal’s – if you want to rip it metaphorically from the red carpet and onto your aisle. If your theme is a little more casual, but you still want a similar look, look to Sophia Kokosalaki‘s Metis tulle gown.

THE ACCESSORIES

Amal kept her accessories minimal to let her stunning gown shine. Do the same with statement, yet understated pieces to pull together your look like Oscar de la Renta’s Pave teardrop earrings, Gianvito Rossi‘s simple leather pumps, and Tiffany & Co’s Infinity bracelet.

THE GROOM

We can’t all marry movie stars, but with a little styling, your husband-to-be can look like one. Keep the look classic in a traditional tuxedo, like the George approved Gucci, or Anthony SquiresSilver fox status not included.

THE LOCATION

ITALY-US-BRITAIN-PEOPLE-WEDDING-CLOONEYVenice may not be on the cards for many of our weddings, but you can still capture the waterfront feel of their celebrations at Williamstown (complete with ferry ride from the CBD), or on the banks of the Yarra or Maribrynong rivers.
