“At the core of our brand we have a philosophy of hope for this world, a philosophy of grace, a philosophy of giving, a philosophy of just possibilities.” – Philosophy founder Cristina Carlino

Philosophy is the cult skincare brand, which has become just as popular for its messages of positivity on its packaging as its fantastic products.

Philosophy was founded in the United States in 1996 by Cristina Carlino, a cosmetic industry visionary with over 30 years experience in clinical skin care and beauty. The first company Cristina founded was Biomedic, a medically-based skincare line distributed to the world’s leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists.

Seeing an opportunity in the market, Cristina expanded her inspirational vision to create Philosophy which aimed to bridge the gap between what was offered in doctor’s offices and retail, so women everywhere could personally access leading skincare technologies. In 2010, Philosophy was acquired by Beauty giant Coty and began global expansion.

“Philosophy promises to bring you remarkable products that inspire you to live a better life by being better to yourself. We believe in inspiring beauty on the surface and within the soul.”

Philosophy redefines beauty under the overarching theme that everyone is beautiful and to be a supermodel all you really need to be is a super person. Philosophy products are formulated with scientifically-proven medically-accepted ingredients and technologies, with development overseen by a contingent of doctors and scientists.

Philosophy is devoted to caring for people of all skin types. They offer some of the finest, most well-respected, innovative skincare available today, and as advanced skincare experts, their revolutionary formulas address multiple skin concerns in order to help achieve a radiant, healthy-looking complexion.

Cult products include moisturiser Hope In a Jar, 3 in 1 cleanser for face and eyes Purity Made Simple, fragrance Amazing Grace and the Microdelivery peel.
