It’s Spring and the perfect time to mix up your beauty regime! I’ve been trialling lots of products over the last month and I’m excited to share some of my favourites. If you’re using any of these, I’d be keen to hear what you think too!

TOO FACED BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION

TooFaced

One of my favourite foundations of late, Too Faced Born This Way foundation is a medium to full foundation that packs on without looking like it’s packed on. For coverage that is undetectable, you only need to use a small amount and build up to your desired look. I only used two pumps from the bottle to achieve medium coverage. Best applied with either a foundation brush or beauty blender – it leaves a flawless natural finish that lasts all day, no need to reapply.

Born This Way not only provides great coverage with an oil free formulation but also contains some fab ingredients that help nourish the skin. Coconut water helps to hydrate the skin whilst Alpine Rose helps to brighten the skin’s appearance and hyaluronic acid helps to smooth the skin. An all in one skin savior – internally and externally!

An absolute winner in my books for the new season especially with the ‘no makeup, makeup look’ prevailing. Available in 24 colours meaning finding a shade to suit your skin shouldn’t be a problem.

 CLARISONIC SONIC FOUNDATION BRUSH

Clarisonic-sonic foundation

Boasting the ability to create a flawless look in 60 seconds or less, I have to say I was mildly cynical. Surely applying foundation couldn’t be that easy…nor could be done that well… But when you attach the Sonic foundation brush to the Clarisonic (I have the MIA FIT) it really does become a really nifty and effective way to apply foundation.

Using the oscillation technology of Clarisonic, the makeup brush applies the foundation easily and evenly without creating any streaks, leaving you with flawless coverage. The brush is equipped with anti-microbial and non-porous bristles meaning it doesn’t absorb much of the foundation reducing wastage. It’s also really easy to clean with warm soapy water. The bristles are also super soft and application feels flawless.

The Sonic Foundation brush is compatible with the Mia 1, Mia 2, Mia FIT, and Smart Profile and transforms your sonic facial cleanser into a super efficient beauty tool.

I found it super easy to work the foundation around my face in under a minute to build medium coverage. I used a few different foundations – stick and liquid – and found it equally usable to create a flawless and even look.  In fact, I also used to apply primer prior to applying my foundation for even application and also with CC cream which also produced similar results. What a little gem!

One to add to your beauty kit, especially if you’re like me in the morning and have minimal time to spend on makeup application.

BY TERRY STYLO EXPERT CLICK STICK CONCEALER

byterry

Ultra-creamy and lightweight. A juxtaposition really but the formulation of By Terry’s new Stylo Expert Concealer glides on and camouflages all the imperfections you’re seeking to conceal. And the best bit, you only have to use a little bit – it goes a long way. I love the stick formulation – it’s easy to apply a few dabs to where you need it and either use your fingers to work it in or a concealer brush to work into the complexity. The formulation contains highly concentrated pigments and it clings to the skin upon application working especially well to cover dark under eye circles. Build up coverage by patting the easy to use concealing pen – formulation and function definitely a winning combination here.

Available in 12 shades ($56) at Mecca www.mecca.com.au
